Job description

Screen International – the only independent trade magazine and website for the global film industry – is looking to recruit an Asia Correspondent to join our busy editorial team, generating insightful coverage from the key Asian markets. This will include covering the major news stories out of the region each week for our website www.screendaily.com combined with agenda-setting features for our print magazine Screen International.

 

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic journalist with strong knowledge of the international and Asian screen industries, a bulging contacts book and a clear understanding of B2B publishing. While most of the Screen editorial team are based in London, the successful candidate will most likely be living in Asia.

 

They will work closely with our existing international correspondents in Asia, coordinating coverage from their respective markets, while also looking to grow that network over time. They will also contribute to the editorial side of Screen’s existing partnerships with events including Hong Kong Filmart and the Busan and Tokyo film festivals. The role will require regular international travel.

 

The role is a freelance position with a monthly retainer for news coverage and additional payment for features and other work.
