Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a bright and confident individual to join MBI as a Researcher to work on ALF (https://www.alfinsight.com), a premium online platform that provides sales and marketing professionals with key decision-makers at the UK’s top 6,000 advertisers and their associated advertising agencies. ALF has been recognised as the best source of new business intelligence within the advertising & marketing industry for almost 35 years. Our clients include high profile organisations such as News UK, Channel 4, Transport for London, the FA, Bloomberg and Cancer Research.

The successful candidate will be required to work independently and to become quickly operational. They will help maintain the accuracy of our database using both telephone and web research to confirm/source/check information. They will be expected to process data to the highest quality standards and to deadline.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • To help update the data we hold on some of the biggest advertising agencies in the UK and make the required changes to the database.
  • To establish and cultivate good relationships with agency contacts and find innovative ways of getting the required information.
  • To resolve data queries received from our clients.
  • To quality check company profiles to ensure high quality standards are being met before publication.
  • To participate in data projects as and when required.

 

 

Person Specification
  • Top notch research skills, a confident telephone manner and a sharp eye for detail are key requirements for this role, as is a strong desire to get things right in a hardworking environment driven by deadlines and competing priorities. If you are afraid to pick up the phone, this role is not for you!
  • The ideal candidate will be articulate, resourceful and versatile; and will be expected to demonstrate high levels of pro-activeness and accountability together with the ability and confidence to communicate with industry contacts across the hierarchy spectrum.
  • Good problem-solving skills, good time management and a ‘get on with it’ attitude will be a definite plus in this role.
  • A good grasp of Excel, databases and an active interest in the advertising industry will also be an advantage.
